The camp, made of wooden structures provided heated shelter, sufficient drinking water, kitchens, showers and sanitation to meet minimum UN humanitarian standards. Built by MSF.<br />

  • Left for the birds...La Linière was the first camp to be constructed according to humanitarian standards in France. This site replaced the nearby Forgotten migrant camp (Basroch).  The residents were mainly Kurds from Northern Iraq, and many of the men were Peshmerga fighters who fought against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. April 2016

  • The Belfast Peace Walls, also known as The Belfast Peace Lines, separates catholic and protestant communities in Northern Islands Belfast. The purpose of the walls was to curb the violence steamed from the outbreak of civil unrest during the riots of 1969. The walls still remain. It is approx six metres high, with gates along its length which are still locked at night.
