Carnegie Library in Herne Hill, South London.
A peaceful occupation by the local community is ongoing at Carnegie Library to protest against library closures in Lambeth and to seek their reinstatement.
The occupation enters its 6th day, around 30 people still inside the library. Lambeth Council has prevented people entering or re-entering the building since Friday afternoon. On Monday 4th April, Lambeth Council served an IPO (Interim Possession Order) with a court hearing set for this Friday. Protesters will remain in as long as they can. A gym is planned to replace the library
