‘La Linière’ refugee camp in Grande-Synthe, Dunkirk, Northern France
Left for the birds...La Linière was the first camp to be constructed according to humanitarian standards in France. This site replaced the nearby Forgotten migrant camp (Basroch). The residents were mainly Kurds from Northern Iraq, and many of the men were Peshmerga fighters who fought against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. April 2016
